Hanging out with a pack of wild children forcibly raises your energy level and draws you back to childhood yourself. What fun is being a kid if you can't get run around like you've just escaped a mysterious imprisonment that nobody knew about except you? That's exactly what happened today with siblings Kyle, Hayden and Avry. The three stopped by the studio for some fun portraits and were more than happy to have the chance to let loose and go crazy!
My philosophy about photographing children is just to let them be kids! It's what they do best. When they are having fun they look their cutest and smile brightest. Forcing kids into poses just doesn't work. They usually end up with awkward smiles and looking incredibly uncomfortable.
Summer is traditionally the most wedding-full time of year. With the vast amount of blue skies, warm nights, and fresh blooming beauty all around it's no wonder why.
As many brides know, it's often the details of a wedding that make it beautiful. One of my favorite subjects to photograph is babies. Babies at any age are fun for differring reasons, but when they are around 7-9 months old they are just the most fun of all baby-hood. These photos are from an older photo shoot -- it was actually shot on film (gasp!) -- from 2004. This little lady has been a popular subject in my work, mainly because she belongs to me. That's my daughter Olivia. She will be celebrating her 4th birthday in August! Where has the time gone?! She loves to pose for the camera, but only if mom is taking the pictures. (Her pre-school photos are absolutely awful! But they'd be an excellent tool if she were ever lost in a crowd because that's the face she'd be making.)
These photos are two of my favorites so of course they made it onto the new blog. What a great way to break it in!
Our next wedding is coming up quickly -- Friday, June 22. Kimberly & Matthew will celebrate their love at the Lakeshore Country Club and we will be there to capture every beautifu moment.
